Update: The footage is from a game called Mercury unveiled at ChinaJoy 2014. After some digging we found the source. I knew there was no way that Microsoft would ever fund a sequel for a game which didn't offer them any returns.

An anonymous individual posted a video with some details about what they claim is footage from ReCore 2. Yes, ReCore 2. ReCore 2 will supposedly be unveiled at E3 2017 for a late-2018 release date. I don't know if Microsoft would invest in the game given how broken the original was at launch which led to poor sales and poor critical reception. However, it's definitely an interesting concept and not a AAA experience so you never know. The post stated:

"Joule is more mature and much more different than we saw earlier in the first game. The game will have cooperative for four people. We will have new enemies and new weapons as in the video gave to realize, a flamethrower. The game chart is better than the first one right now. The story will revolve around a new kind of robotic threat. The game is scheduled to come out at the end of 2018."

I don't know of any flamethrower mod which exists for ReCore. I've been playing the game on Xbox One and Windows 10 and even reviewed it. Safe to say, I've done a lot of research on it. Apart from that, ReCore doesn't feature biological enemies and those enemies attacking Joule in the footage look like they're made of flesh and blood. Either someone went through a significantly elaborate hoax which included making a mod and recording blurry gameplay footage or there might be something to it. I honestly don't know what to think.

If I were to bet I would probably say that this might be test footage of a sequel or maybe the add-on coming out soon. However, I highly doubt that the add-on will add a flamethrower and new enemies. It's just supposed to add the tank robot. I'm just as confused as you are. I don't think this game will ever get funded given how poorly the first one was received.
Our score: /10
