Avalanche Software’s Mad Max will run at 1080p on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The news was revealed to GamingBolt when they spoke with Avalanche Software’s senior producer John Fuller. When asked whether the open world, post-apocalyptic action title would run at native 1080p resolution on both consoles, he simply replied, “Yes!”
However, that was not the most interesting part of the interview. When Fuller was asked about the map’s size and how long it would take to get from one end to the other, he said, “There are no finite limits to the map… in other words, there is no one side. You can continue driving into The Big Nothing until you get bored or killed. Our tech can support enormous worlds but it is always a case of balancing the density of content and travel distances so that the player feels they are in a rich world.”
Are you excited to play this game? I’ll be honest, I wasn’t really interested in this title beforehand but after reading about the technology and how it powers an enormous map, I’m intrigued. I’ll definitely give Mad Max a go when it launches on September 1.
