Windows 10 Phone Preview will be available on more devices soon

When Microsoft released the Windows 10 Technical Preview for Phones, it was limited to a very small number of devices. There was no flagships included and the main devices were the Lumia 630, 635, 735 and 830. Of course, we all took to Twitter to express our concerns to Microsoft in a friendly matter (the last bit there is not true). Microsoft have now updated Windows Insiders on what devices will be included in the next build and there’s quite a lot of them.

Microsoft have said they’ve sorted out the partition stitching and the code has passed their quality evaluations. This week, they tested code on individual devices including on employees phones who are in the Internal ring. China Mobile Operator users will also get the next build. Gabe Aul has said only one more week of engineering is needed to ensure they have a great build for all the new devices.

A word of warning before that huge list of devices. Even if your device is listed below, it might be pulled from the list if they find a specific device bug. If your device isn’t listed below, it’s most likely because they found a bug specific to that device and it might get fixed before the next build is deployed.

Sounds good! I think it’s time to see the phones supported.

As a Lumia 820 and 925 owner, I’m delighted to see both of my phones supported in the next build. Is your phone listed above? Let us know in the comments below. The majority of owners should be covered in the next build. Still no non-Lumia devices yet, Microsoft’s own hardware would be considered the priority seeing as those devices have the most Windows Phone market share.
