According to a study by the Global Web Index, Xbox One users spend more timing gaming than any other platform. Xbox One owners on average spend 2 hours and 27 minutes gaming which is closely followed by Nintendo Wii U owners at 2 hours and 26 minutes. Oddly enough, PlayStation 4 owners only spend 2 hours and 15 minutes gaming on average per day. That’s quite surprising given how Sony claims it’s the best place to play but gamers don’t seem to be gaming that much on their system.
When it comes to last-generation consoles, the Xbox 360 still beats the PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii. This is definitely great news for Microsoft because recently they changed how they measured success by charting the engagement with their services. Anyone can keep a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One on their shelf or in a box in a warehouse but who’s actually using them is clear by this study. I also love how the mainstream media calls the Wii U a failed console but gamers are actively playing on it due to the fact that they’re getting fresh experiences. The supposed “winner” is in third place. I can already see the outrage a certain group will express over this report.
