As expected from a beta test, the guys at Visceral Games have recently detailed changes that are heading to Battlefield Hardline as a result of fan feedback.
Battlefield Hardline is the ultimate ‘cops and robbers’ fantasy according to EA, and Visceral are keen to show they aren’t playing fast and loose with Battlefield brand.
Weapons designer David Price spoke on the changes: “Based on player feedback, we’re addressing some of the weapons that were felt to be overpowered, a few of the assault rifles are going to get more recoil and a few of the starting weapons are going to be more user friendly for someone who’s first jumping into the game.”
Check out the developer diary below for more reassurances from Visceral on Battlefield Hardline’s direction:
My personal take on Battlefield Hardline is mixed. Some people consider the Hotwire gameplay to be fun, but I found myself driving around in a circle for 15 minutes whilst everyone else ran around ignoring objectives to kill each other. I think there needs to be more incentive to actually chase objectives rather than just run around killing – killing is too much fun. I’m also unsure of the heightened speed of the game vs. similar Battlefield 4, it all seems a little too much like an attempt to steal fans of Call of Duty who might be intimidated by Battlefield’s sheer scale and emphasis on squad play. What do I know though? I’d like to know your thoughts on BFH in the comments below.
Battlefield Hardline launches on March 17th in North America and March 19th in Europe.
