Turtle Rock Studios, the development team behind recent monster hunting hit Evolve, have announced via a blog post that the Xbox One will be receiving two new maps this month. ‘Broken Hill Mine’ and ‘Broken Hill Foundry, will be available to download from March 31st, and will be exclusive to the Xbox One for an entire month. The levels will then be available for PS4 and PC owners starting April 30th.
Both maps promise to be totally unique environments. Broken Hill Mine is set in sprawling tunnels under the planets surface, with three distinct areas featuring a rock quarry, a venom hound nest and a final zone featuring a huge conveyor belt. Broken Hill Foundry has a heavy industry setting allowing gamers to race around factory corridors, tight streets and high rooftops.
Both of these free maps allow you to play Hunt, Nest and Rescue modes, through Skirmish, Custom matches and Evacuation campaigns. Each map also has a unique evacuation effect. If the Hunters win in the foundry they will have a supercharged jetpack for the next round, and if the monster wins it is engulfed in bohrium gas, making its melee attacks even more powerful. If the Hunters win on the Mine Mining Drones get repurposed as Shield Drones for the Hunter team in the next match. As the Monster destroying the mining drill makes the environment tectonically unstable. The resulting earthquakes will flush out birds from the surrounding areas, deceiving the Hunters as to where the Monster is really located.
