A user on Reddit has posted a picture from Fable Legends showing several different microtransactions and prices.
This person was most likely taking part in the games closed beta and broke a signed NDA when they leaked the screenshot. This leak has angered many within the community who feel that the prices are unreasonable and think that they will break the in-game economy.
The microtransactions are all for gold, and are priced as follows:
– Pound of Gold (850 pieces) for $5.
– Mark of Gold (1850 pieces) for $10.
– Stone of Gold (2850 pieces) for $15.
– Hundredweight of Gold (6000 pieces) for $30.
– Ton of Gold (12,800 pieces) for $60.
In response to this leak, people who are also participating in the closed beta have said that earning the in-game currency isn’t exactly difficult, and a lot of people are making this out to be a much bigger problem than it actually is.
It is important to remember that Fable Legends is launching as a free-to-play game, so having microtransactions in a game like this is very common. Developers need to find ways to profit from their games so that they can continue to support them. Fable Legends doesn’t seem to be forcing its players into buying any of these microtransactions, whose prices are subject to change as the game is not even out yet. Lionhead Studios is looking to release it sometime in 2016, after it was delayed out of 2015.
