Update: According to various individuals who work in retail abroad—whose employment we verified—the game should come out in April. The remasters are titled Shenmue 1 & 2 Pack right now in their systems but that might change as we get closer to an announcement. Keep in mind that these individuals might have forged their information so take this with a grain of salt until Sega offers an official press release or statement. I personally find it a little suspicious but then again I also didn’t believe it when there were leaks about Red Dead Redemption becoming backward compatible. I’ll let you readers decide this time.
Sega recently registered ShenmueHD.com and ShenmueRemastered.com along with other domains pertaining to the games. If this isn’t confirmation that a remaster of the first game is coming I don’t know what is. Sega was teasing us about this for the past few months with statements like “We’re looking into it.” I guess it finally happened.
@SEGAbits @tssznews Just checked, and the domains are real: https://t.co/QW8D78fiBJhttps://t.co/cPTciLciwV

We’ve reached out to Sega for comment but I imagine we’ll get the standard, “We have nothing to share at this point” response. If the domains had been registered by someone else, I wouldn’t have given this a second though but they were registered by Sega themselves. That has to be some sort of confirmation.
