Unknown Worlds Entertainment is bringing their underwater survival game Subnautica to the Xbox One. A developer from the studio has tweeted out a picture of an Xbox One dev kit after receiving it for the game.
In Charlie Cleveland’s tweet, he says “I’ve dreamed of having console dev hardware for years!”
Clevelend also went on to confirm to XBLA Fans that the studio is indeed working on an Xbox One version, however they “reserve the right to cancel it if it doesn’t work.”
The studio was accepted into the Xbox One Preview Program, and Cleveland estimated that the launch of Subnautica in the program should be sometime around March if all goes well. The Preview Program is Microsoft’s version of Early Access and it allows developers to launch an incomplete game while they finish developing it.
Subnautica looks to be an incredible game with a wealth of content and player freedom. Currently its User reviews on Steam are sitting at “Very Positive” from over six thousand reviews. It has been on Steam Early Access for a year and is priced at $19.99 normally. Bringing it to the Xbox One is a great way to bring attention to the game while making it easier for more people to play.
