In an investor call a few days ago, Ubisoft said that Assassin’s Creed Syndicate sales were clearly impacted by the performance issues of Assassin’s Creed Unity. Assassin’s Creed Syndicate witnessed the worst-performing opening week in the main Assassin’s Creed series.
Ubisoft’s Alain Martinez stated, “Clearly, in our first week, we were impacted by what happened with Assassin’s Creed Unity. We seem to experience the same sales curve as Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag…Syndicate was down in the first week.”
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is a good game but it’s not as good as the first few titles in the franchise. The game seems to be losing its charm the more it delves into the modern era. Broken experiences like Unity that still haven’t been fixed completely to this date don’t help it either. Hopefully it’ll be better next year because Syndicate is at least technically sound.
