Call of Duty: Black Ops now backward compatible on Xbox One

Update 2: Microsoft just confirmed the game’s backward compatibility for Xbox One. The title is now available to download from the store and works if you insert the disc.

Update 1: The image isn’t a hoax as we verified it on Xbox 360 ourselves. Numerous other Xbox 360 owners are reporting the same. Leaked promotional material also confirms that the game will be backward compatible today. Many users are also reporting that it’s available to download right now.

Call of Duty: Black Ops should be backward compatible today according to a page that appeared on the Xbox 360 dashboard. Mike Ybarra also teased an announcement a few hours ago with a timer set at a little over 13 hours. The fact that the original Black Ops appeared in the dashboard listing further confirms what he was hinting at.

Are you excited to play Black Ops on your Xbox One? Let us know. The game is currently on sale for $10 on the Xbox Store. I’m going to keep on trying until it downloads. As with any leak, treat this with a grain of salt until we have official confirmation. For all we know this might be some elaborate Photoshop hoax.
