Update: It seems that Microsoft was only conducting a trial run of the 60 FPS Game DVR clips as Mr XBob and Max Tremblay aren’t able to capture at 60 FPS anymore using the console’s built-in tool. This feature will probably be available to more Xbox One preview members in June as the Xbox team irons out the bugs.
An update that rolled out to Xbox One Preview members a few days ago added the ability to record 60 FPS gameplay directly with the console’s Game DVR. However, the feature only works for some members and not others and seems to be unlocked randomly. The Xbox One is the only next-generation console that offers built-in 60 FPS recording. You can take a look at the new smooth gameplay on the Xbox One website as many preview members are already posting clips to test out the feature. You can watch them here, here and here. Another user by the name of Max Tremblay, who got the ability a few days ago, posted his video to YouTube in addition to his Xbox One profile.
The ability to record at 60 FPS was a popular requested feature and it’s great that they made it available so soon. Hopefully we will soon get confirmation from Microsoft as to when this feature will be available to everyone. I’m guessing it’s probably going to be announced at E3 and will be available to preview members then. Stayed tuned to ICXM.net for more updates as soon as they’re available.
