Download Among Us for Windows 11 and Windows 10
Two official stores sell the PC version, and Steam names Windows 10 as the minimum OS. Steam is the route for a Steam library; the Xbox store version adds Xbox Play Anywhere, so one purchase also covers Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, and Game Pass members get it as part of the subscription.

How to install Among Us on Windows 11 and 10
- For Steam, open the Steam store and select Install Steam if the Steam client is not on the PC yet, then sign in.
- Open the Among Us store page and select Add to Cart, then complete the purchase.
- Open your Steam library, select Among Us and install it.
- For the Xbox version, open the Among Us page on the Xbox store while signed in with your Microsoft account, buy it or claim it through Game Pass, and install it on the PC through the Xbox app.

Is Among Us on Game Pass?
Yes. The Xbox store lists Among Us as included with Game Pass Essential, Premium and Ultimate, plus the plan it labels PC only, and it is cloud playable with Essential, Premium and Ultimate. Game Pass covers the download on Xbox and PC, and the same three plans unlock online console multiplayer and Xbox Cloud Gaming, which streams Among Us to an Intel Mac or a browser. Cloud playtime is 5 hours a month on Essential, 10 on Premium and 15 on Ultimate, and cloud gaming is not included with PC Game Pass.
Is Among Us free?
Among Us is free only on mobile. PlayStation's FAQ answers "Is Among Us free to play?" with a plain no, and Steam and the Xbox store charge for the PC version.

Steam's system requirements for Among Us list only Windows, and the App Store requires an Apple M1 chip or later on a Mac, so an Intel Mac plays Among Us through cloud streaming.

How to update your Among Us game
Innersloth stopped supporting every 2024 version of Among Us on June 22, 2026 and asked players to update to v17.4.0 or later. If "v2024" appears in the bottom-left corner of the main menu, the copy is out of date.
- On a Windows PC with the Xbox store version, open the Microsoft Store and select Check for Updates.
- On iPhone or iPad, open the App Store, tap the My Account button or your photo, tap App Updates, then tap Update next to Among Us!.
- On a Mac, open the App Store, click Updates in the sidebar, then click Update next to Among Us!.
- On Android, open the Google Play Store app, tap the profile icon, tap Manage apps & device, tap See details under updates available, then tap Update next to Among Us.
- Start Among Us and confirm the main menu no longer shows a "v2024" version label.
How to fix Among Us
The main menu shows "v2024" and online games do not work
Innersloth no longer supports 2024 versions of Among Us.
- Update Among Us through the store you bought it from, using the steps above.
- Restart the game and check that the version label in the bottom-left corner has changed.
Among Us is stuck on Quick Chat or will not let you change your name
The account is not logged in, or it is a child account without parental permission.
- Make sure you are logged in to a full Among Us account, or a child account with parental permission.
- Open the Settings menu with the gear icon, and under Data select Chat Type.
- Choose Free or Quick Chat instead of Quick Chat only.
- To rename, open the Account tab and select Change Name.
Among Us will not connect to online games on Xbox, PlayStation or Switch
Console online play needs the platform's subscription.
- On Xbox, check that your plan is Game Pass Essential, Premium or Ultimate.
- On PS5 or PS4, check that PS Plus is active on the account.
- On Switch, check that Nintendo Switch Online is active, then retry the lobby.
The Mac App Store will not install Among Us
The Mac has an Intel chip or runs a macOS version older than 11.0.
- Check whether the Mac has an Apple M1 chip or later and runs macOS 11.0 or later.

Among Us 2 release date, price and higher player count
There is no Among Us 2. Innersloth confirmed the sequel on August 18, 2020, then cancelled it on September 23, 2020 to put everything planned for it into Among Us itself, so the current game is the one to download.
