Halo 6 should come to Windows 10

Microsoft’s recent initiative to bring Xbox and Windows 10 together as a family of platforms hasn’t exactly been the most positively received idea that Microsoft have revealed—although nowhere near as negatively received as the always-online pitch for the Xbox One. Responding to the UWP/Xbox negativity in an interview with PC Gamer, Xbox boss Phil Spencer acknowledges these concerns saying, “We gotta earn it. I know our Quantum Break launch wasn’t the best launch we had. I thought the Apex launch, the Forza launch went well on PC. We’re gonna learn by keep doing it.”

Xbox are planning to stick to the Xbox family approach between Xbox One, Windows 10 and the upcoming Scorpio. “All the games we talked about at E3 from first party” when responding to the Xbox Play Anywhere section of their recent conference. When saying that first party games are committed to the Windows 10/Xbox merger, it’s obvious that fans would be wondering about whether the Xbox’s flagship series, Halo, would be coming to Windows in a form other than Halo 5 – Forge Edition.

“I want to make sure this is clear”, Spencer said. “I’m not about putting content only on console to manipulate Windows gamers to go buy an Xbox. The reason somebody wants to go buy an Xbox—or I’ll just say a game console, yes I’d love if they bought an Xbox—is they want to sit 10 feet from their television screen with a controller in their lap. . . it’s a different experience from playing on PC. . . Halo 5 absolutely could be played on a PC.”

If Spencer wants to make it clear that Microsoft are indeed committed to this idea of a joint family of platforms, then it would make sense that the beloved Halo series would make its way over to PC both in its current iteration and future installments.
