Today at Minecon, Telltale Games revealed the first details for Minecraft: Story Mode since the game was announced in December. Minecraft: Story Mode will follow the standard Telltale format of one narrative-driven story across five episodes. Players will control Jesse on a quest to save the world.
According to the studio, “Players will control protagonist Jesse throughout the season, as portrayed by actor Patton Oswalt. Jesse and his group of friends revere the legendary Order of the Stone, four adventurers who slayed an Ender Dragon. The Order are the very best at what they do: Warrior, Redstone Engineer, Griefer, and Architect. While at EnderCon, Jesse and his friends discover that something is wrong…something dreadful. Terror is unleashed, and they must set out on a journey to find The Order of the Stone if they are to save their world from oblivion.”
Telltale also released a list of all the voices featured in the game. The title will include some amazing artists. You can take a look at all the actors below along with the name of a game or film they were part of.
• Patton Oswalt from Ratatouille
• Brian Posehn from Rise of the Silver Surfer
• Ashley Johnson from The Last of Us
• Scott Porter from Batman: Arkham Knight
• Martha Plimpton from The Goonies
• Dave Fennoy from The Walking Dead
• Corey Feldman from Stand By Me
• Billy West from Futurama
• Paul Reubens from The Nightmare Before Christmas
When asked about the various paths players can take, Telltale Games stated, “As Jesse, players will steer their own path through a tale of adventure and survival, all brought to life by an all-star cast. Through Telltale’s choice-based gameplay and a story spanning from the Nether to the Farlands, the End, and beyond, we can’t wait for fans to experience this new take on the beloved world of Minecraft.”
Minecraft: Story Mode is a great way for gamers to be part of their own interpretation of the Minecraft universe. Judging by Telltale’s reputation and their previous games like The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones, Minecraft: Story Mode should be an amazing experience. We cannot wait to play it later this year.
