Update: DualShockers clarified that they didn’t ask about new plans just past talks about bringing the game to Xbox One.
Shenmue 3 has been extremely popular since the Kickstarter was revealed. In an interview with DualShockers, Yu Suzuki subtly implied that the project could eventually come to Xbox One. When asked whether he was in talks with Microsoft executives about an Xbox One, Suzuki replied “I’ll let you use your imagination on this one.”
Suzuki probably can’t openly discuss the Xbox One edition of the project, or even mention his ambitions for the system. It’s great that Suzuki controls the rights and he can bring it to whichever system he wants. Plus, let’s not forget in order to initially fund the project he probably established some vague marketing partnership with Sony.
Hopefully this game will come to Xbox One. Stayed tuned to ICXM for more information as soon as it’s available.
