Last month, Ark: Survival Evolved developers Studio Wildcard were hit with a lawsuit by the developers of Dungeon Defenders 2, Trendy Entertainment. According to Kotaku, the lawsuit between the two—which was a result of former designer for Trendy, Jeremy Stieglitz, breaching a contract set by Trendy Entertainment which they called “improper behaviour”—has been finally settled at a reported $40 million.
While the terms of the settlement between these two companies were never disclosed publicly, a fan who goes by the Reddit name Childishjakerino posted a picture of an alleged Twitter DM from Susan Claire Stieglitz—co-founder of Studio Wildcard—claiming that the lawsuit, which was originally for $600 million, was settled for $40 million.
Now that the lawsuit has been settled we can rest assured that Ark and Studio Wildcard will live on. The dinosaur-hunting survival game would have been taken down from both Steam and the Xbox Store if Trendy Entertainment had been successful in the trial. Now, though, everyone will be able to roam around, killing and riding dinosaurs all across the world of Ark.
