Battlefield 1 just had its official reveal livestream on Twitch and we got a thrilling trailer and some great information to build hype around the game. Among all of the announcements were two collectors editions of the game, which will allow players to play the full game three days before the official release. The largest collectors edition dubbed the “Exclusive Collector’s Edition”, will include a fourteen-inch statue, DLC, a poster, a patch, and many other goodies.
Now that you know all the versions of the game, it’s time to find out how the game actually plays. In a Q&A session with some DICE employees, it was revealed about how different yet similar the game is to other entries in the popular FPS series. The game will include the environmental destruction the series is known for, but since the game is set in World War I, it will be in ways you have never seen before. The game will also include brutal close quarters combat thanks to new melee weapons such as shovels and bayonets. Battlefield is also known for all the vehicles at your disposal, but now all those jets and helicopters are gone! We are going back in time and using some less-traditional means of transportation like horses and old tanks.
It’s safe to say Battlefield 1 will be one of the most innovative games in the series and maybe even the FPS genre. Battlefield 1 will release October 21 worldwide, but EA Access players can get a head start on October 16 with a 10-hour trial.
