Backward compatible library reaches 300 games as BioShock trilogy comes to Xbox One

Update 2: Phil Spencer said that January is looking pretty good for backward compatibility. Which games will we see in January? We’re already getting Rayman Origins and other popular titles like The Cave so that’s a good start. I wonder what else will be added.

Update 1: BioShock and BioShock 2 reach 60 FPS on Xbox One for their backward compatible versions. While BioShock 2 doesn’t maintain 60 FPS throughout that well, the original BioShock sticks close to 60 FPS a lot of the time. This wasn’t possible on Xbox 360 which went to 45 FPS when the frame rate was unlocked. You can learn more about it at Digital Foundry.

Xbox fans can now rejoice as the much-loved BioShock trilogy has just become available through backward compatibility on Xbox One.

Announced by Major Nelson on Twitter, the BioShock franchise now boosts the current Xbox 360 library playable on Xbox One to over 300 titles.

Whilst 2K released BioShock: The Collection not too long ago, it’s wonderful to see the company still consent to allowing owners of the original 360 games to play their copies on Xbox One. Tell us what you think in the comments below.
