According to GameSpot, Microsoft has recently filed a trademark application for “Direct Reality,” and the trademark covers computer game software.
The trademark, filed just days ago on June 2, specifically covers “computer software for holographic applications” and “online computer game software.” Seeing as Microsoft has made investments in its HoloLens technology, this trademark could possibly be related in some way.
Though Project Scorpio is planned to support virtual reality, Microsoft confirmed that the company would not have any form of VR for Xbox consoles at this year’s E3. Trademark applications also do not mean that a new product will definitely be announced as companies have filed applications in the past that have never lead to anything.
