Remedy Entertainment recently filed a trademark under the name Alan Wake’s Return. Many believed this was a sequel to the positively reviewed Alan Wake game that was released in 2010 for the Xbox 360 and PC. However, the trademark actually refers to the live-action episodes that will feature in Quantum Break. These episodes will feature Remedy’s creative director (and Max Payne’s face) Sam Lake.
In an interview with Kotaku, Lake said, “A big part of the trademarking process, all in all, is the legalities of it, just making sure everything is covered. When it comes to starting development on a game, it’s a different process of making sure everything is locked down. So, there’s no real news about anything future Alan Wake related.”
If you are a fan of the Alan Wake games don’t despair just yet, Lake also said “Other than that, we are exploring possibilities and concepting different things, but lots needs to click into place for anything to happen. We will be the first to talk about it when there is something definite to talk about.”
Those who pre-order Quantum Break through participating retailers will receive a free copy of Alan Wake and Alan Wake’s American Nightmare. If you pre-order Quantum Break’s special edition or digitally through the Xbox Store you will also receive the Windows 10 version for free. Quantum Break releases April 5 for the Xbox One and Windows 10.
