Update 4: Rockstar has released the first trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2. The trailer is only about a minute long and doesn’t give too much away, but it features gorgeous scenery from the game as well as presumably the seven men from the image that Rockstar released previously riding off into the distance at the end of the trailer.
Update 3: Confirmed. Rockstar has officially revealed Red Dead Redemption 2 coming fall 2017. A trailer will be released on October 20. It has been announced for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 at this time with no mention of PC. Hopefully it makes it in time for Project Scorpio as both have similar launch windows. In addition, it looks like Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two apparently registered a domain for Red Dead Online, much like how Grand Theft Auto V has a persistent online mode aptly named GTA Online. Rockstar’s website claims “the game’s vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience.”

Update 2: Rockstar has released yet another image teasing Red Dead, this time featuring a silhouette of cowboys walking in the sunset.

Update 1: The game may be called Red Dead Retribution. Numerous other images are also floating around which might be real or fake but there’s no way of determining that. One of them is saying the game is called Red Dead Renegade. There were also rumors floating around a few months ago that a Red Dead Redemption remaster was coming. We’ve reached out to Rockstar Games for comment and shall update you as soon as we know more.
It’s happening. Rockstar Games has tweeted out a picture teasing the next game in the Red Dead series. With just a simple image, Rockstar has set the internet ablaze with everyone speculating what it could mean, and that answer is almost always Red Dead Redemption 2.

We have already seen several images which turned out to be fake this year alone from different sources hinting at Red Dead’s possible return, however this time the image comes from Rockstar’s official account. Garnering critical acclaim, Red Dead Redemption first released in 2010, so the beloved title is due for a sequel soon. Hopefully Rockstar won’t make everyone wait too long before they start posting more information.
It’s amazing what a logo on a red background can do.
