While many games were announced at Gamescom for Xbox One—and it’s absolutely impossible to keep track of them all—some of them stood out to us the most. Get Even and Silence are dark and mysterious adventures which look like they feature intriguing gameplay as well as spellbinding stories.
Let’s talk about Get Even first. The premise is as follows. When Cole Black awakes in an old abandoned asylum, his sole memory is the attempted rescue of a teenage girl with a bomb strapped to her chest. The rest of his memories are completely gone. What is real? Your understanding of the past is what will shape the outcome of your future. Help Black travel into the distressing and tortuous depths of his own mind, by facing the truth and answering two very simple questions: Why was he there? and Who was the girl?
Silence might seem a little cute in the beginning given the adorable and bulbous creatures, but it has an epic scale to it. The game features dark and magical environments as well as colorful characters. For some odd reason it gave me a The Lord of the Rings feel. While it’s still too early to tell much about the game, the trailer definitely has me hooked.
The game will take players back to Silence, a world made of dreams. We accompany Noah, a teenager, who lost his little sister Renie in the hazardous real world and now hopes to find her again in Silence. According to the developers, “apart from an emotionally investing yet humorous story, adventure-fans can look forward to a reunion with old friends and many new features.” These two are games you should definitely keep tabs on.
