Originally announced in 2012, Star Wars 1313 was effectively cancelled after LucasArts was closed by Disney. Now Kathleen Kennedy, the president of Lucasfilm, has said that they are interested in exploring some unused material that was developed for the game.
Speaking to Slashfilm, Kennedy said “We don’t want to throw any of that stuff away. It’s gold. And it’s something we’re spending a lot of time looking at, pouring through, discussing, and we may very well develop those things further. We definitely want to.”
It is unclear if any of the material will be developed into a television series, movie, or another game. The game was meant to be developed for Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC, and would have told the story of Boba Fett in his early adulthood, exploring the criminal underworld on Coruscant.
It would be amazing if they could revive the game entirely, but it’s also nice to know that Lucasfilm won’t just scrap all of the material. At least there is a chance that people will be able to get a glimpse of what the game may have been like, in whatever form that may be.
