This is speculation, and should be taken with a grain of salt – Rockstar have not officially confirmed this.
This Wednesday, June 10th, Rockstar will release the next free pack for Grand Theft Auto 5, Ill-Gotten Gains Part 1. The pack was detailed last week and will include new weapons, cars, helicopters, jets, clothes and much more.
You may know that the casino in Grand Theft Auto 5 has been there since the game’s release in 2013, with a “Coming Soon” sign on the front. However, other than glitches, the casino has not been accessible, and we’ve all been (im)patiently waiting for an update to allow us to gamble all our money away. But – YouTuber MrBossFTW might be on to something.
Downloadable content for Grand Theft Auto Online has always been released on a Tuesday or Thursday, so it seems odd that Ill-Gotten Gains Part 1 would be released on a Wednesday. Los Santos is a virtual depiction of Los Angeles, with most buildings in Grand Theft Auto 5 referring to the real life counterpart. The casino and racetrack in Grand Theft Auto are both located on the “Hollywood Park” in real life.
The casino and racetrack in Hollywood both opened on June 10th 1938, the same day as the Grand Theft Auto 5 DLC is set to release. With the dates all coinciding, it seems suspicious. Of course, this is all pure speculation, and it could just be a coincidence/a convenient date. This should be taken with a grain of salt, as nothing has been confirmed.
The vehicles in the upcoming update for Grand Theft Auto 5 do also cost quite a bit of money, and although heists are out, they don’t give you too much cash – Rockstar are definitely aware that players do lose interest doing the same missions repeatedly, and this seems like a great idea to keep the game fresh.
What do you think? Coincidence or could there be a possibility in this speculation? Let us know in the comments.
