Microsoft have just announced that Windows 10 has more than 500 million active monthly users across PC, Windows 10 mobile and Xbox One.
Being released less than two years ago, Microsoft’s newest entry into the famous operating system has an impressive venture. While it may be doing well in the minds of everyone, Microsoft’s personal goals of having Windows 10 installed on a billion devices by the summer of 2018 is a pipe dream at the moment.
Microsoft’s Yusuf Mehdi has responded to this saying, “it will take longer than FY18 for us to reach our goal of one billion monthly active users.” Nevertheless Windows 10 is doing extremely well with even the built-In AI assistant Cortana adopting more than 141 million monthly users.
Windows 10 may be a mixed bag of an operating system in some people’s eyes, but it’s adoption rate has skyrocketed since its release. With constant improvements coming to the OS, Microsoft are not aiming to just dominate the OS market in adoption rate but also in quality.
