Michael Pachter is a controversial figure in the gaming industry and he’s usually always wrong when it comes to his opinion. However, he isn’t wrong when it comes to figures. For example, he correctly shared sales for Star Wars: Battlefront when everyone else called it a flop. Well, today he talked about Halo 5.
Pachter reveals Halo 5’s figures at the 4:30 minutes mark. He says that Halo 5’s microtransactions generated more revenue than add-ons for previous games. This is why Microsoft decided to abandon selling maps and focused on the REQ packs instead.
Secondly, Pachter said that Halo 5 had more players playing at six months than any other Halo game and sold about on par in that time with Halo 1, 2, 3 and 4. So not only is it a commercial success, but the multiplayer guaranteed its longevity.
