Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain releases on September 1

Thanks to a video accidentally uploaded early by IGN, the release date of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain has been revealed. According to the footage, fans can expect to play Snake’s new adventure on September 1, 2015 around the world. The video was taken down immediately but screenshots flooded the internet. You can take at the image below. Since the leak, Konami has come out and confirmed that the game is indeed coming this September. The Phantom Pain’s competitive multiplayer mode, Metal Gear Online, will go live on the launch date as well. Komani also stated that The Phantom Pain would be the last Metal Gear Solid game in the franchise.

The £59.99 Day 1 Edition of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will include a physical map as well as five add-ons. The add-ons are the Adam-ska Special Handgun, Personal Ballistic Shield, Wetland Cardboard Box, Snake’s Blue Urban Fatigues, and an online experience boost. The game will only cost £49.99 on the Xbox 360 however. There is also a Collector’s Edition that contains the same map, a steelbook, a documentary, and a replica of Snake’s bionic arm. The package also includes many other in-game items. The Collector’s Edition costs £99.99 and is only available for next-generation consoles. The Windows version of the game releases on September 15, 2015 and will cost £59.99.
