Microsoft have revealed their latest Xbox One SKU for 2015. This bundle includes a new matte-finish Xbox One with a 1TB hard drive, a newly designed wireless controller with the 3.5 mm stereo jack and finally, for a limited time in select regions a downloadable code for Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
The reason behind the addition of the 1TB hard drive was because of it being such a huge fan request. It was first introduced on the Advanced Warfare holiday 2014 bundle and since then many have requested it to become a new standard for Xbox One. Upcoming games this year such as Forza Motorsport 6, Halo 5: Guardians and Rise of the Tomb Raider will definitely need the extra storage. Plus, you’ll be able to add an external hard drive yourself that’s USB 3.0 powered.
Also included in this bundle is the newly designed Xbox One Wireless Controller with a 3.5mm stero headset jack. With the updated controller, in addition to the volume and mute controls on gaming headsets, you’ll also have the option to adjust headset volume, mic monitoring, and voice and game audio balance through the Settings menu on your console. Audio which passes though the controller has also been improved with an increase in maximum audio volume. The bumpers have been fine-tuned for a more consistent performance and the updated controller can do firmware updates wirelessly. No additional USB cable needed. You’ll also be able to purchase the controller separately in black or the new camouflage design in silver and black.
Finally, the new Xbox One 1TB bundle will start shipping to retailers in the United States on June 16th and later in the month in select markets starting at $399.99. Also, starting today the Xbox One 500GB SKU is getting a price drop to $349.99 permanently in the United States and selected regions. The 1TB Xbox One will be available tomorrow for £349.99 in the UK.
