Hello Games, the developers of the highly controversial No Man’s Sky, which launched on PC and other platforms earlier this month; have started shutting down forum threads discussing the topic of plummeting players on the game. Earlier this week we reported that according to Steam’s own player count, the game has suffered a massive 78% drop in active players since launch, a figure that is much worse at present no doubt. A forum post that discussed this, was shut down without reason.
The thread moderator requested more information from Steam and was notified that the thread was abruptly shut down by the developers and that he should discuss it with them instead of Steam.
No Man’s Sky launched earlier this month to massive fanfare, selling over 700000 copies on Steam. The game was lauded as the most advanced game in history, thanks to the massive hype produced by Sony and Hello Games. However, the final product was anything but, lacking features that Hello Games have discussed; including multiplayer features and dynamic worlds, instead releasing a stale and unimaginative universe.
Hello Games shutting down forum discussions follows the censorship and strikes they implemented when the game launched; when they abruptly shut down any Youtube channel discussing the game. Sony has since then applied the same with discussions about the upcoming PlayStation 4 Slim.
No Man’s Sky is currently available on Steam and other platforms.
