It is publicly known that The Witcher 3: Hild Hunt is the final chapter about the adventures of its main character, Geralt of Rivia, but that doesn’t mean the end of The Witcher games, as it was recently confirmed by the boss of CD Projekt RED.
When asked about a sequel of The Witcher in an interview given to the Polish TV station TVN24 BiS, the joint CEO of CD Projekt RED Adam Kicinski said that “It’s too early to talk about it, but it’s not like we’re forgetting about this brand – that’s understandable. (…) It wouldn’t be fair towards the fans. We work within this universe for over a dozen years now and I don’t think it’s going to be the end of it.”
Adam Kicinski was also asked about the studio’s upcoming game called Cyberpunk 2077 where he answered, “The project is even more ambitious than we first planned (…) we need to create a game that will be even more successful. (…) We have a long way ahead of us to reach the biggest commercial successes in the world. Sure, many people consider The Witcher 3 to be the best game in the world this year, but this is not a game that broke any sales record.
Regarding either the Cyberpubk 2077 and the continuation of The Withcher series, there’s nothing that we can do but wait (patiently) for further and official information from the developers about both games.
Regarding the recent win of the Game Of The Year award, The Witcher 3: Will Hunt will receive a big expansion in 2016 called Blood and Wine that according to the studio will have a new story that is played out in a totally new location and that will offer players about 20 hours of gameplay.
