When answering a fan question on Twitter, Phil Spencer revealed when we can expect to see the new list of backwards compatible games. We don’t know how many to expect or when they will be playable but at least we know when to expect to get these answers! Phil said they don’t have an exact reveal date, but are aiming for mid-December!
@xgn_ghostface Still landing exact day for announce/launch of this month’s games. Should all be complete by mid-December. @XboxQwik

Xbox One’s backwards compatibility was revealed earlier this year at E3 and allows Xbox One owners to go back and play their old Xbox 360 games by either sliding an Xbox 360 disc in the disc drive or downloading the game from your install list. Due to licensing issues, they can’t put every Xbox 360 game on at once so they have to get the publishers approval which has resulted in Microsoft releasing new backwards compatible games in waves.
