Koch Media and Taleworlds Entertainment announced today that they will be bringing the popular medieval sandbox game Mount & Blade: Warband to Xbox One. Warband is a great game that drops you into this huge medieval world where it really lets you pick who you want to be and while it is an older game and doesn’t have amazing graphics it makes up for it with the amount of freedom it gives. The game will be releasing sometime this spring and will have both digital and physical copies. We don’t have a price for it yet but I assume that will be released along with the release date a little closer to when the game launches.
When I first saw this I had a mini freak out as this is one of my favorite games ever and has tons of replay ability. This game really shows that you don’t have to have amazing graphics for a great open world sandbox experience. This also raises the question that if Warband is coming to consoles will the next game in the Mount & Blade series that Taleworlds are currently developing called Bannerlord come to consoles. We will just have to wait and see for that but I will definitely be picking Warband up launch day and I recommend anyone that hasn’t played before to check out some gameplay.
