Retro platformer Möira gets Kickstarter campaign

Game Boy memories are often one of the fondest an experienced player has. Nintendo’s iconic handheld left its mark in video game history.

Now, Brazilian independent game development studio Onagro pays homage to the classic portable device and brings its style to the 21st century with Möira, a retro-looking action-platformer crammed full of modern puzzle and exploration elements.

In Möira, the player controls Rubick, a not-so-talented wizard in search of his missing master. His main ability is Mimic, which lets him to copy enemies’ and NPCs’ powers. Also, Rubick can combine these spells to create new ones. This is one of the core mechanics in Möira and it’s fundamental in both puzzle-solving and fast-paced strategic combat. Also, the order in which you mix these powers matters, for example: combining a sword with a beam results in a Magic Sword, while summing the beam with the sword results in a Magic Boomerang.

Onagro Studios released a 30-minute free demo of Möira on itch.io, which featured the game on its front page. Now, the studio seeks funding on Kickstarter, having collected half of its €12,000 goal so far. The campaign ends on April 13th. Möira is already approved in Steam Greenlight. The plan is to bring the game to computers before it makes the jump to consoles.

This is definitely a game I think deserves your support and I hope you visit their page here and fund the project. I just contributed and hope that they cross their goal soon.
