According to Glixel who had the chance to speak with Todd Howard, Skyim has sold around 30 million copies to date. I’m not sure if this includes digital sales but considering that Todd Howard talked to them and they discussed his games thoroughly, the figure seems plausible. We don’t know where the figure comes from exactly so take this with a grain of salt. For all we know they might be using VGChartz or something…whatever that fictious site is called. You can read part of the excerpt below:
“The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has sold 30 million copies, which makes it a hit on the scale of Grand Theft Auto, Call of Duty, Mario. They joked about the game on an episode of NCIS. You can’t get more mainstream than that. What did that kind of success mean for you as a creator?”
It’s great that the game is doing so well. I imagine that number will only go higher because of the rerelease.
