A Redditor by the name of eric5949 has discovered aspects of the Xbox Beta app that hint at a Xbox to Windows Phone streaming feature could arrive on Windows mobile devices. When clicking the “Play from console” icon in the app, however, the streaming bar appears but will always fail to stream from your console with the usual “we could not stream from your console” message that appears on the PC version.
As of now, Windows mobile devices do not have the ability to use Xbox One controllers. Although during the most recent Build conference, Microsoft announced that the feature to use Xbox One controllers would be arriving sometime in the future.
The Xbox App on both PC and mobile is a UWP application with pretty much the same version being available on both platforms meaning that the premature appearance of this feature could be a bug making the PC options appear on mobile devices. Xbox has recently been looking into more extensive streaming features, especially in Chinese territories, and Sony already has PS4 to mobile streaming for their Xperia devices so it’s not out of the realm of possibility.
