Update: The beta begins October 8 and runs until October 12.
EA just announced that a Star Wars: Battlefront beta will come to Xbox One and Windows in early October. The beta will feature the forty-player Walker Assault mode on the Hoth map between the Rebels and the Empire. Special Hero characters Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader will be available to unlock as well. The beta will also feature the Survival Mission on Tatooine, where two players team up as Rebels to defend against waves of Imperial forces.
EA did not say whether a pre-order is necessary to enter the beta, or how long the beta will run for. Please note that no progression will transfer over to the full game from the beta. EA also announced the Star Wars: Battlefront Companion application that will be available during the beta. It contains a strategic card game called Base Command that lets players earn in-game credits to unlock weapons, Star Cards, and more.
