Today Bethesda released their newest piece of DLC for Fallout 4. Titled Fallout 4: Vault-Tec Workshop, this piece of content is similar to the past two workshop releases, but has a lot more content than the other two. Included in this workshop pack are quests. Immediately after you load up your save, you get a quest objective to listen to a distress beacon. You learn that it is from Vault 88 and from there your adventure begins. Once discovering the vault, you meet the Overseer and gain control of a massive area to build as you see fit.
I spent over two hours on this DLC journeying to the vault, clearing out all the debris (the vault is massive), and doing some quests for the Overseer. It was a fun experience and I enjoyed it much more than the past two workshop packs. I’m not a very creative person and this pack gave me quest content to guide me along the way instead of throwing me head first into the new building materials. Speaking of building materials, there are a lot of new additions to the settlement system. You have access to several different types of rooms and materials all fashioned after the vault aesthetic we’ve all come to love. Another big part of the Vault-Tec pack is the ability to perform ‘experiments’ on your vault dwellers. I thought this was a fun touch and it encouraged me to build more and more.
If you want an excuse to dive back into Fallout 4, the Vault-Tec Workshop DLC is a good one. It’s beefier than the past two workshop packs, and provides several hours of entertainment. It’s only $4.99/£3.99 and for that price you can’t beat a couple hours of entertainment.
