Microsoft rewarding players for their dedication to Xbox starting December 15

Update: You can grab a prize from the goodie bag on Xbox Live Rewards. Most of the prizes are gone but there are still some great items remaining.

Starting December 15th, if you’re an Xbox Live Rewards member you will be eligible to receive a bunch of gifts from Xbox! It’s not exactly clear what the gifts will be and it appears it’ll vary person to person. In addition to the gifts, Xbox will be offering a 5% boost to your VIP payback from December 15th to December 31st. This means you’ll get an additional 5% back to your normal amount when you purchase an item on the Xbox Store!

“Thanks to your dedication to Xbox, you’ve been able to earn some exceptional Rewards over the last five years. And to commemorate the occasion, come take part in our five-year anniversary celebration for some grab-ready Rewards you just can’t miss!

Last week, we started celebrating early when we secretly awarded $500,000 in thank-you gifts to some of our top VIPs. We’ll keep the party going by handing out over 500 MILLION Bonus Rewards Credits to you with a 5% boost to your MyVIP payback from December 15 through December 31. That’s a minimum of 5% back on eligible purchases, even if you’re not currently a VIP… and it can go as high as 15% for 5-Star Gold VIPs!

Also beginning December 15, you can claim a Grab Bag Prize from our cache of cool stuff—the earlier you choose, the more choices you’ll have. And once you’ve grabbed all you can, you can get featured in our 5th Anniversary Gallery when you share your favorite Rewards moments from the past five years with us via Instagram or Twitter.
