Remedy is known for being a pretty busy company, they take lots of time to develop their games and make sure they’re in near perfect condition before release. Knowing this, it should come as no surprise that Remedy has been working on a new game for about 9 months now. So, while they were putting those finishing touches on Quantum Break, they were already planning out their next big title.
Thanks to some LinkedIn profiles, we were able to get some small clues as to what the team over at Remedy has been up to for the last few months besides getting Quantum Break on store shelves.
Mikko Rautalahti has been working on the story for the mystery game as Narrative Lead for roughly three months, so this pretty much confirms that the game has been in preproduction and the concept phase for the last six months and they’re just now putting pen to paper.
Kyle Rowley has been working as Lead Designer on the unannounced project since about August, more than likely helping flesh out ideas for the game during preproduction.
One can only assume, and hope, that this means Remedy has begun production on a sequel to the cult-classic supernatural thriller, Alan Wake. There have been many teases over the last year that Remedy would like to return to the fan-favorite character and have even talked about story ideas for the game. Remedy even gave multiple teases to the game in a few easter eggs hidden throughout Quantum Break.
What do you think Remedy is working on? Do you hope it’s an Alan Wake sequel or a new IP? Let us know in the comments below.
