The ludicrously expensive Batmobile Edition of Batman: Arkham Knight has been cancelled just a week before the game’s release.
This information comes from an email from GAME, a UK retailer. The cancellation of the Batmobile Edition seems to be to do with the poor quality of its transformable Batmobile figurine.
“Regrettably, due to unforeseen circumstances that greatly compromised the quality of the Batmobile, included within the Batman Arkham Knight Batmobile Edition, Warner Bros has decided not to release this product,” GAME state in an email to customers.
This is a surprise blow to Batman fans who spent a huge £169.99 on this bundle.
Those affected are of course receiving their money back, and a £20 discount on the GAME exclusive Batman Red Hood Edition, which is just £29.99 including the discount.
Of course, this edition does not come with the planned bonuses with the Batmobile Edition – these included:
- 80 page custom art book – 80 Page, Full Colour Art Book Showcasing the concept art of Batman Arkham Knight.
- Unique SteelBook case and game disc.
- Limited Edition DC Comics Batman: Arkham Knight #0 Comic Book.
- Exclusive Character Skin Pack, which includes three unique skins from DC Comics’ The New 52.
- Batman memorial statue.
Batman: Arkham Knight will be available on the 23rd of June for Xbox One and PC.
