Let me first start off by saying that the gaming community is built by so many different people from all over the globe. At times some fall through the cracks and don’t get the recognition they deserve. That doesn’t mean they’re forgotten nor does the work they do in the community—making it a fun and enjoyable place—go unnoticed. With that being said, podcasts do make up a big part of the Xbox community. This medium brings so many gamers together, whether it be in chat getting to interact with their favorite YouTuber or with keeping them up to date with the latest news in the podcast itself. Our community has many YouTube gamers who make daily videos on your favorite games and gaming topics. Here’s what’s going on in the community this week.
Community YouTubers
This week I’ll bring you just a few of the YouTubers that have stood out to me with their content. These special people help gamers learn more about a game they played or even help with the Xbox One hardware itself. They make video content from reviews to walkthrough guides helping you complete a game you may be having trouble with. So without further ado here they are.
Maka’s guides are some of the easiest to understand and are helpful in getting achievements. He explains in detail where to go and how to complete a game 100%. There is much more that this gamer provides on his channel from reviews to giveaways.
Scratch is another Xbox gamer to watch out for reviews, collectible guides, Xbox Preview tips and more.
We all love watching videos about games, but there are also a couple of gamers that take it back to old school experiences. Like many of our writers at ICXM, you might have grown up with GamePro magazine and Nintendo Power. These awesome writers are just a few that should be noticed for their reviews and blogs.
First Bear Claw Gaming takes it back with his unique writing style, to have his readers feel the passion in his words. Not everyone just writes about gaming reviews, some talk about their favorite gaming experiences, or what they enjoy most in the gaming community. Some just like to be able to show people how proud they are to be gamers. Much like TommyGunz and his blog. There are much more like this, and I do hope to bring a lot of them to the spotlight as weeks go on.
Community Game Events
First, a game night is held on Thursdays, hosted by Asthmattic117. Last week playing, Asthmattic117 made it a great night of fun for everyone. The times do vary but are always at night, so watch Twitter for future details on the next game time.
During this week’s community game time, they all joined in to play the new mode from Halo 5 called Warzone Firefight. With a party chat of sixteen and eight players on two teams, they fought waves of enemies to see if they had what it takes to be called a champion. Then everyone came together to finish the night off with an eight vs. eight private match of the Slayer variety. The gaming night was brought to you by the Console Corner Podcast hosted by GKB and myself. It’s held on Saturday nights and all Xbox Live Gold members are welcome and it always starts at 9:30 PM EST.
Community Gamer Spotlight
A new community giveaway rose to the surface and is getting gamers on the edge of their seats from DocCupCake84. But before I jump into that, let me tell you a little about him. He is known for his YouTube channel, giving reviews of games, updates, and his out-of-this-world giveaways. Not everyone notices the small things that he does for this gaming community and veterans. Once in the United States Navy and now a veteran, who has a passion for video games, he helps to support the Xbox community with his website, but also promotes initiatives to help veterans around the world with Operation Supply Drop.
Now the giveaway. Last month Microsoft brought forth a new Elite Controller with a rare and limited edition featuring a Gears of War 4 paint job. With its outstanding appearance and brand from the game, it’s a must-have controller. This epic giveaway is outstanding and already has many entries. You won’t want to miss it. You can join here until August 1.

With new gamers finding their mark in the community, they start to build their own persona, much like the gamers on each podcast listed above. Hopefully shining a spotlight on some of these community members will get them more viewers to bring their vision to reality. This in turn could help spark the imagination of others to bring great content to everyone.
I also want to tell everyone about a couple of amazing designers that do some great artwork for the community! Be sure to check out Diego V., Shaun LaBrie and Jay Williams aka Graphic God. One honorable mention goes to MANNY TATTOO ARTIST for an outstanding inspired remaster logo.
Notice something special in the community? An event or maybe someone doing a little extra that you think should be noticed? Then DM it, submit it, let us know so we can show it to newcomers or gamers who just want to see how great this community is.
