Before EA’s Star Wars: Battlefront, there was Free Radical’s Star Wars: Battlefront 3. Footage has surfaced from the unannounced, cancelled Star Wars: Battlefront 3 showing off what would’ve been very impressive battles for its time and even today because EA’s Star Wars: Battlefront barely scratches the surface of what Free Radical had.
The leaked footage shows space battles that go from space and into the atmosphere of Coruscant, a story mode, and much more. A source reports that the game was in final QA testing and was close to release but the crumbling of LucasArts crushed all hopes of getting this game released. You can watch the footage below, keep in mind this footage was probably pre-alpha or alpha so that’s why it doesn’t look very good graphically.
This isn’t the first time Star Wars: Battlefront 3 footage has leaked. In May of 2013, footage of the game leaked and it was pretty similar to the footage seen above. It’s always interesting to see what is going on inside of a studio, especially when you get to see something that was never meant to be shown to the public!
If you’re craving a new Star Wars game after watching that, you’ll be able to play EA’s Star Wars: Battlefront starting November 12 if you have an EA Access subscription and the full game will release on November 17.
