Back in July, Satechi announced plans to launch a Cortana Button. The Cortana Button would be a standalone Bluetooth device that offers access to Microsoft’s digital assistant on Windows 10 devices at the touch of a wireless button. Some wondered if the device might ever make it to market. We’re pleased to announce that device is available for purchase right now here.
The Cortana Button offers an alternative to the Hey Cortana feature which listens for commands. While keeping the microphone active all the time can drain battery rather quickly, the button can be placed anywhere to access Cortana and preserve battery life.
Satechi says, “Attach the button to your keychain, steering wheel, or dashboard to safely and conveniently access your smartphone or tablet when it’s out of reach. Access your device even while it’s in your pocket, purse, from the couch, and more!”
The device is priced at $22.99, which includes a mount to attach it to various places as it suggests. The company also promises “amazingly long battery life of up to 2 years” from the device. I’m definitely going to buy one. Are you?
