Dark Souls 3 comes with free backward compatible original Dark Souls on Xbox One

Dark Souls 3 is now available for digital pre-order and pre-download on the Australian Xbox Store. It costs 99 AUD for the standard edition and 137 AUD for the base game plus season pass, which advertises two huge DLC expansion packs for a discounted price. More regions should start to see these items become available over the next few hours in their own respective currencies.

Most exciting about this, however, is the announcement that the original Dark Souls will be playable on Xbox One via backward compatibility. By pre-ordering Dark Souls 3 you will receive a code for Dark Souls delivered via Xbox message center within seven to ten days. The store indicates that this code will be sent out about a week after purchase of Dark Souls 3, not release, implying that Dark Souls could become backward compatible to all users any day now.
