Update: Deep Silver clarified by stating that PlayStation 4 can’t have separate multiplayer experiences on the same disc.
Dead Island: Definitive Collection publisher Deep Silver took to Twitter today to answer some fans questions on the upcoming game. One of the bigger questions that popped up was a fan asking if Dead Island 1 and Dead Island: Riptide would be on the same disk to which Deep Silver responded with “On XB1 it is on the same disc. PS4 discs don’t support multiple games, so there Riptide comes as a download code”. Shortly after that response many fans were bringing up how other games like Metro Redux were able to support multiple games so the publisher clarified with this “We could’ve worded that better. You need a separate menu, you can’t just put two games on disc the same way as on XB1”. It’s really cool to see that they were able to keep the games all on one disk for Xbox One since many players on Xbox One don’t have the storage space to support 3 different titles anymore.
