Elite: Dangerous gets planetary landings on Xbox One soon

Elite: Dangerous planetary landings are coming to Xbox One very soon. The developer just sent out this press release today. I can’t wait to learn more about it and hopefully we’ll have a concrete release date soon.

Today I’m happy to announce we’re bringing Elite Dangerous: Horizons to Xbox One. This is a huge announcement for us, and something we’ve been working on for a while. Elite Dangerous: Horizons will come to Xbox One in Q2 2016 (Hint: We’re in Q2 already!) and will bring Planetary Landings and a host of other new features to Elite Dangerous.

Planetary Landings pushes the Xbox One hardware in some unique ways, simulating vast real planet-sized environments using our galaxy simulation technology. Horizons’ simulated worlds are unlike anything you’ve seen in a game before, and are as real as we could make them, just like the rest of the Milky Way galaxy. We’ve worked hard to bring this experience to Xbox One players, and we’re thrilled to be able to announce it at last.

Are you excited? Let us know.
