As reported earlier, the space merchant game, Elite: Dangerous, will be arriving onto the console market after a successful outing on Windows and Mac. The title is deep, giving the player multiple options on how they want to progress through the story. As alluded to earlier, merchant shipping is one such method.
Launching soon on the Xbox One, developers Frontier have confirmed they will be including multiple platforms over the lifetime of the game. Founder David Braben said that the PlayStation 4 will get it in time, but for now, it will only be available on Windows, Mac and Xbox One.
This game looks like a lot of fun, but for me it’s going to be one I buy for my computer rather than Xbox. What do you think? What’s your opinion of open-ended games? Can such games be successful on consoles?
