Here’s everything you need to know about Far Cry 5

Ubisoft’s Far Cry 5 reveal was much bigger than we could’ve anticipated. Not only did the company release the much-anticipated reveal trailer, but a whole wealth of other videos showing numerous aspects of the game, its world, and its characters.

Far Cry 5 will put you in the role of Hope County, Montana’s junior deputy. Your arrival in the fictional town doesn’t go down well with the residents and triggers a violent takeover by the area’s religious cult, The Project at Eden’s Gate. Just like every other Ubisoft Far Cry game, it’s up to you and members of the Resistance to take down The Project at Eden’s Gate and return Hope County to its previously peaceful state.

Far Cry 5 aims to be even more varied than previous entries with more varied environments, a wide range of vehicles including muscle cars, boats, 18-wheelers and even planes. Yes, this Far Cry has dogfighting with evangelical extremists. Hallelujah.

Weapon variety will also be larger than before with a huge amount of guns, grenades and melee weapons to take care of your enemies. Of course, this will still allow you to choose whether you want to take on enemies through stealth gameplay, or go in guns-ablaze with a grenade launcher and a shotgun.

Fan creations will also be returning with a new map editor. A great aspect of previous Far Cry titles, the map editor will allow all players to easily create new experiences for everyone. More details about the editor will be released soon.

Far Cry 5 will release on February 27, 2018 on Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4 along with support for Project Scorpio. Expect a full gameplay demo to be shown at Ubisoft’s E3 conference but until then check out the trailers below.
