Gears of War 4 is now available for digital preorder on Xbox One. The game starts at $60 but there is a special edition too which includes the season pass. That’ll run you $100. The season pass offers a lot of content including two dozen maps which can be used privately. The maps in general will be free to everyone as they rotate in and out but if you want to play them privately with your friends you’ll have to buy them or buy the season pass. Lastly, buying the Ultimate Edition gives you early access to the game starting on October 7.
Additionally, the Xbox One preorder page warns that the game may require 70-80 GB of hard drive space. Like Halo 5, these estimates seem to be quite close to the actual size so be sure you have plenty of space available on your console or an external hard drive handy. This might even beat out Halo 5 which sits at around 78 GB currently.
Gears of War 4 begins a new saga for one of the most acclaimed video game franchises in history. After narrowly escaping an attack on their village, JD Fenix and his friends, Kait and Del, must rescue the ones they love and discover the source of a monstrous new enemy. It sounds like a promising start and I can’t wait to learn more about the campaign at E3.
